If you intend to engage in a financial transaction related primarily to your house, then you will need to have a valuation done. Sometimes a valuation is required by law. Usually it’s demanded by the party who is taking the risk, such as a bank, financer or insurer. You’ll definitely need a valuation in the following cases:

- If you’re requesting a Dutch National Mortgage Guarantee
- If you’re appealing against your WOZ (Valuation of Immovable Property Act) assessment
