Buying a Pre-Owned home: the benefits
A separate category in our listings: Pre-Owned homes! Newly built homes in brand new condition in which their first owners stayed for just a short period of time. Pristine, future proof and most comfortable. Read more!

The benefits of pre-owned living:
In the average 2 years between buying a home from a technical sketch and its completion, a lot may happen. A new job in another city comes along, twins are born, living preferences may change… Reason to sell a newly built home, shortly after the owners moved in.
Whenever a house like that comes to market, people line up for a viewing. And rightly so… Why is pre-owned such a clever choice? We’ll tell you all about it:
1. Future-proof
With a pre-owned home, you’re sure to make a good investment in the future! In terms of maintenance, because you won’t have to worry about that for the time being. In terms of building materials, because they meet the most recent requirements and will last for years to come. In terms of comfort, because the insulation, floor heating and level of finishing are undoubtedly up to standard. In terms of energy efficiency, because that is where new construction leads the way. But you are also making a wise choice in terms of financial investment. If you buy an energy-efficient home, you can lend more money plus some mortgage providers offer favorable interest rates on top of that! Looking ahead, a gas-free home is more likely to increase in value than decrease…
2. Energy efficient
With new construction, you are assured of a well-insulated home. From glass to walls, floors and roof, a new home is particularly built to minimize energy loss. In addition, a “new” house is fitted with low-temperature heating and a heat pump. Some new houses are even 0-to-the-meter and generate as much energy as the household uses. With solar panels, or a solar water heater for example. That means low energy costs, favorable interest rates and less impact on our climate!
3. Sustainable
Since July 1, 2018, all new-build homes are to be delivered without a gas fitting. So this applies to most pre-owned homes! Cooking on induction, heating at low temperature with a heat pump, generating electricity with solar panels… A Pre-Owned home is a sustainable home. Sustainability is also considered in the construction itself. Think about limiting nitrogen emissions, responsibly produced building materials… In short: Pre-Owned is very eco-friendly.

The first residents of a new home have had a lot of time to furnish their future palace. Tiling, flooring, electrical outlets, everything has been thought through. And because they only lived there for a short time, everything is as good as new. This means that you don’t have to strip out an outdated kitchen, replace single glazing or tackle a dated bathroom. You can move right in!
5. Just one occupant before you
New construction is an adventure. A new area, new neighbors; the history of the neighborhood starts with those first residents. Over time it will grow and flourish. As a second resident, you are part of that adventure too!
Plus: everything in the house is nice and fresh. No run-down stairs, no worn-out floors… A nice, fresh new start!
6. Move in quickly
Whereas new construction has a long completion time, pre-owned homes do not. The handover may take a few months, but you’ll be able to move in very quickly. All the perks of a newly built home, but not the wait!
